A Message from Liz Goodwin, Chief Executive

Dear Candidate,

I am delighted that you have expressed an interest in working for WRAP as our Chief Finance Officer and the opportunity to contribute to our future success.

WRAP is responsible for spearheading the delivery of a key part of the government’s resource efficiency agenda. Our vision is a world without waste and we work with businesses, local authorities and consumers to reduce waste and make better use of resources. This reduces carbon emissions and helps to tackle climate change. A challenge for me as Chief Executive is to lead WRAP through continued growth and evolution despite an uncertain economic and political climate, and I am totally committed to what we can achieve with such a focused, energetic and passionate team. Hugh Etheridge, our outgoing Chief Finance Officer, has made an excellent contribution to our success to date and helped build an organisation fit for purpose. Hugh is now retiring, and as a result we are seeking someone of equal stature to play a significant role in taking the organisation forward.

The UK is on the cusp of transformational and cultural change in waste management and recycling, but it is a tough challenge and one that requires a unique organisation like WRAP and a talented team to continue the momentum. Our reputation as an organisation is a good one and expectations of us are accordingly high. It is essential we continue to deliver what we promise, and more besides.

You will have a vital role in working with and supporting a strong, passionate and committed workforce and Board. As an experienced corporate team player you will bring with you your abilities as a strategic leader with a successful career track record and the ability to make a significant contribution across the organisation as a whole. Your sector experience is secondary to your ability to be effective and credible at Board level in this commercially and socially driven organisation.
